I previously posted my thoughts on the “Race Card” and now we have the “Sex Card” apparently being played.
Obama’s campaign has accused the GOP camp of engaging in a “pathetic attempt to play the gender card.” In an e-mail to reporters Wednesday, the campaign noted two other instances of McCain using the phrase “lipstick on a pig” and its use by other Republicans such as House Minority Leader John Boehner and Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl.
What engendered this? Obama “criticized McCain’s economic policies as similar to those of President Bush, saying: “You can put lipstick on a pig … it’s still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still going to stink after eight years.”
And McCain’s campaign took this as smear against his V.P. candidate, Palin.
Ms. Palin’s use of the word lipstick does not give the McCain campaign exclusive use of the word. Lipstick on a pig does not refer to Palin, and McCain’s suggestion to the contrary is, in my opinion, absurd. Yet, if McCain wants to call his running mate a pig, that is between himself and Ms. Palin. Obama is correct, this is the sort of thing that makes people sick and tired of politics. Its a misplaced hope, but perhaps the two of them can play nice and attack what the other actually says instead of what they claim the other impliedly says.

She is not seeking the vice presidency, and no one speaks for her but her,” communications director Howard Wolfson said.”
Associated Press Quote.
Does anybody fail to see the irony here? I sure would not want my communications director telling the world my plans in one breath, and then stating that nobody speaks for me but me. Who does this guy think he is speaking for Hillary while saying nobody speaks for Hilary? Guess that makes Mr. Wolfson a nobody.

I remember landing under sniper fire. There as supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport but instead, we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base. – Hillary Clinton
I tend to see things as black and white, and given that upon landing in Bosnia Hillary Clinton a) Walked off the plane, b) Did not duck her head, and c) Greeted people cordially, I am forced to conclude that she is either delusional or has very poor judgment concerning the likelihood of getting away with telling outrageous lies.
I do not accept that she was simply “mistaken” in her account.
Do I want to have a president that is delusional or prone to telling outrageous and embarrassing lies?
So, was she lying or was she delusional? The answer is, she was lying. Liars lack the character to do the right thing. If she had merely been delusional, she would be seeking treatment (now that she recognizes she was “mistaken”), and she would recognize she is not mentally ready to be President of the United States since she has trouble differentiating between reality and fiction.
Honestly, she should not be running for office after this incident. Unfortunately, since she was lying, she has shown she lacks character, and therefore she will not “do the right thing” and withdraw her candidacy.
